Patricia Cantillo-Kodzis, NP

Investigator, Nurse Practitioner

Patti has been nursing in our community for over 30 years, first as an RN and now as a Nurse Practitioner. Most of her career has been providing care for older adults in the community and home setting. Her experience includes dementia care, home health care, Assisted Living training and consulting, education, sleep medicine, and community clinics serving underinsured people. She now continues her work in clinical trials, focusing on neurological disorders and Alzheimer’s Disease. She continues to serve our community further by volunteering at Shepherds Hope and Neighbors Network.

She is married to the love of her life, Bob Kodzis, her favorite person on the planet. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family. She has two amazing successful adult children and 3 lovable fur babies. Patti very much enjoys traveling, cooking, reading and spending time with nature. Patti will tell you she practices what she preaches-daily-exercise your mind and body, rest well, love others.

PHASES OF A CLINICAL STUDY

Easy and Convenient.

Phase I

To assess the initial safety of an investigational drug in a small number of participants (usually 6-10).

Phase II

To evaluate safety further by testing it on a larger group of participation (usually 20-300).

03

Phase III

To assess safety and efficacy on larger number of participants; tested against any existing treatments (300 - 3,000).

04

Phase IV

To collect information about safety and efficacy in a "real-world" setting following a drug's approval for use.
